Al-Yurae-Khartoum – The Special Court in the coup case of 89 ended the interrogation of the investigator Colonel Jamal al-Din Khalifa yesterday, and the court inquired during the interrogation session by the defense lawyer the accusation about the role of the defendants in the planning and execution of the coup of the thirtieth of June and they are tried in absentia, the number of six defendants and the accusation was separated by the prosecution, and the investigator told the court that the role of the defendants tried in absentia was effective in the coup through their participation in the coup process, and the investigator explained that the accused Abdul Rahim Mohamed Hussein limited his role to The process of maneuvers and (skirmishes) for the coup.
The court adjourned its hearing for next week to hear the complainant in the case, the details of which are due to the fact that on June 30, 1989, Omar al-Bashir carried out a military “coup” against the government of Prime Minister Sadiq al-Mahdi, took over as chairman of the leadership council of what was known as the “National Salvation Revolution”, and during the same year became president of the country.
