Blinken stresses importance of Sudan political framework agreement,

Cairo, – (SUNA) – The official spokesperson for the US State Department, Ned Price, asserted in a press statement today in the Egyptian capital, Cairo that the Secretary of State Anthony J. Blinken emiphisized the importance of the Political Framework Agreement for the Sudanese people, renewing the US support to diplomatic solution to Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam issue.

The press release of the official spokesperson for the US State Department noted that Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken met today with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in Cairo, and they affirmed their strong commitment to the strategic partnership between the United States and Egypt and to cooperate in a range of regional and international challenges.

The spokesperson, Ned Price, indicated in his statement that Secretary Blinken praised the important role played by Egypt in promoting stability in the region, and discussed the ongoing efforts to calm tensions between Israelis and Palestinians, noting the importance of unified international support for holding elections in Libya.

The statement of the US State Department spokesperson, Ned Price, confirmed that Secretary of State Blinken stressed the importance of the political framework agreement for the democratic aspirations of the Sudanese people.

The minister expressed the United States’ solidarity with Egypt in confronting the economic impact of the brutal Russian war in Ukraine, stressing the United States’ support for the domestic economic reform agenda in Egypt, as well as for the International Monetary Fund program that supports its implementation.

The US Secretary and the Egyptian President also discussed efforts to enhance cooperation in the field of economic prosperity for the benefit of the Egyptian and American peoples, while the Minister stressed that bilateral relations are strengthened through progress in the field of human rights.

The US State Department statement confirmed the US Secretary’s renewal of US support for a diplomatic decision regarding the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam that would protect the interests of all parties.
