On Tuesday, the Defense Minister announced that his country now considers the United Arab Emirates to be a “state of aggression,” declaring the severance of diplomatic relations with it.

He stated that the embassy and consulate would be withdrawn, and noted in a statement that the Rapid Support Forces, which are fighting government forces, had used Emirati weapons in their recent attacks on Port Sudan.

On Tuesday, Sudan designated the UAE as a “state of aggression” and cut diplomatic ties with it, a decision that came amid Khartoum’s accusations that Abu Dhabi has been providing its “local proxy,” the Rapid Support Forces, with money and weapons.

In this context, Sudanese Defense Minister Ibrahim Yassin read a statement containing the decisions of the Security and Defense Council, which included: “Declaring the United Arab Emirates a state of aggression,” “cutting diplomatic relations with it,” and “withdrawing the Sudanese embassy and consulate general” from the UAE.

The statement also indicated that the Rapid Support Forces had used Emirati weapons in their recent attacks on the city of Port Sudan.
