“Rapid Support Forces” continue targeting Port Sudan for the sixth consecutive day as the army responds… and three children killed in Omdurman

Khartoum : For the sixth consecutive day, RSF drones have targeted Sudan’s administrative capital, Port Sudan, while the army has responded. Meanwhile, the Sudanese Doctors’ Network confirmed the death of three children and the injury of four others after a drone fell on their home in Omdurman.

A military source told AFP, “Our ground defenses engaged several enemy drones targeting facilities and locations in the city,” while witnesses reported strikes in the north, west, and south of this strategic city, which is a key route for humanitarian aid delivery.

As suicide drone attacks escalate, targeting both civilian and military sites-most notably Port Sudan International Airport, the port, naval bases, oil depots, and power substations-Sudanese Minister of Culture and Information and government spokesperson Khalid Al-Ayeser stated that Sudan is strong due to its people, armed forces, and supporting forces, emphasizing, “The Sudanese state will not collapse because of drones here or there or by spreading lies.”

Drone attacks have also struck Atbara in the north and El-Obeid in the west, where the army confirmed its air defenses neutralized several drones after attacks that lasted throughout Thursday night and into Friday morning.

The Sudanese Doctors’ Network said the drone attack that killed children in their home in District 16, western Omdurman, is a continuation of the RSF’s targeting of populated areas, causing the deaths of unarmed civilians, especially children and women, and described these attacks as violations of all laws of war and international law.

The network noted that the RSF has intensified its use of drones over the past two weeks, leading to clear and deliberate attacks on civilian facilities, directly affecting civilians and increasing their suffering.

It called on the international community to pressure the RSF and its leaders to halt violations and open safe corridors to besieged areas in Kordofan and Darfur, and to stop the deliberate targeting of civilian facilities.

Minister of Information: The State Will Not Collapse… Emergency Rooms Evacuate Dozens from Al-Nuhud

After RSF forces overran Al-Nuhud city in West Kordofan, the local emergency room announced the organized evacuation of dozens of families from the city to various areas in the northern countryside, warning of worsening humanitarian conditions amid severe shortages of medicines and the needs of dialysis and diabetes patients and pregnant women.

All humanitarian agencies were urged to urgently and sustainably provide necessary medical and food support.

In the besieged city of El-Fasher since May last year, the Resistance Committees Coordination said the city has experienced a new wave of intense artillery shelling over the past three days, with shells falling heavily on residential neighborhoods, resulting in a number of deaths “who perished in silence” and dozens of wounded who could not access even minimal medical care amid near-total service collapse.

They added: “The sound of artillery is no longer surprising to the city’s residents, but this time it has brought double the burden amid economic deterioration and a suffocating siege. Markets are empty, water is scarce, electricity is cut off, and medicine is unavailable. Yet despite all this, we remain steadfast.”

They continued: “We refuse displacement and refuse to be uprooted from our roots. We live under shelling and carry our dead with our own hands, but we will not leave and we will not collapse.”

After a new attempt to breach the city, the army’s Sixth Infantry Division announced the destruction and disabling of 26 RSF combat vehicles and the killing and wounding of dozens of RSF members east of El-Fasher.

They said the armed forces managed to block an RSF force from the eastern side, and after fierce clashes, destroyed and disabled all vehicles.

They indicated that neighborhoods in El-Fasher were shelled by the RSF using 120mm and 82mm artillery shells, resulting in civilian deaths and injuries, with the wounded transferred to hospitals and health centers for treatment.

Amid this escalation, the Arab League Council announced its solidarity with Sudan and condemned RSF attacks and the targeting of vital facilities in Sudan.

The Council, meeting at the permanent representatives level under the chairmanship of Jordan’s Ambassador Amjad Adaileh, listened in an emergency session on Thursday to a briefing from Sudan’s Ambassador Imad Mustafa Adawi about the developments in Sudan following attacks on vital facilities in Port Sudan and other Sudanese cities.

The Sudanese ambassador noted that the attacks targeted essential service facilities, including drinking water, energy, electricity, oil, and strategic installations.

The Council condemned RSF attacks on vital installations in Sudan and instructed specialized Arab organizations to provide urgent humanitarian support and help rehabilitate damaged facilities.
