The Journalists’ Syndicate records a serious decline in the state of press freedom and media work

Published:

The Sudanese Journalists’ Syndicate has expressed deep concern over recent measures taken by the Ministry of Information, which now require prior permits for recording public street interviews and ban live broadcasting outside media institution premises.

In a statement, the syndicate described these actions as a serious setback for press freedom and media work in the country, urging all Sudanese authorities-official and otherwise-to respect press freedom and refrain from any practices that could endanger journalists’ lives or restrict their role in reporting the truth.
