The first Royal Air Force evacuation flight departs from Tel Aviv to transport British nationals at risk.

London – Al-Yurae – This afternoon, a Royal Air Force (RAF) flight carrying 63 at-risk British nationals and their family members departed from Tel Aviv, as confirmed by Foreign Secretary David Lammy in the House of Commons. This operation comes amid escalating tensions in the Middle East following recent military actions between Iran and Israel.

The flight is designated for British citizens and their immediate family members who are eligible to travel. All passengers are required to hold valid travel documents. Non-British family members must possess visas or residence permits valid for more than six months.

The British government coordinated with Israeli authorities to facilitate the evacuation process, and is considering additional flights based on demand and the evolving security situation.

British nationals currently in Israel or the Occupied Palestinian Territories are urged to register their presence so they can be contacted regarding any future flights.

The RAF A-400M aircraft transported the evacuees from Tel Aviv to Cyprus, where they were scheduled to transfer to a chartered civilian flight to complete their journey to the United Kingdom.

Foreign Secretary Lammy emphasized that the safety of British citizens remains the government’s highest priority, and that efforts are ongoing to secure additional flights if necessary.
