Sudan Land in Lome Ahead of Crucial World Cup Qualifier vs Togo
The Sudan national team’s landed in Lome to prepare for their crucial clash against Togo on Tuesday 9 September in Group B of the 2026 FIFA World cup qualifiers.

Coach Kwesi Appiah received major boost with the arrival of midfield anchor Abuaagla Abdalla who joined the squad from Libya after missing the 2 – 0 defeat to Senegal in the previous round due to travel delays.
Sudan will also benefit from the return of striker Saifeldin Malik who has recovered from injury and is expected to feature prominently. The pair’s experience & physical presence are seen as vital additions for the “Falcons of Jediane” in Lome.
Appiah granted his players rest on Sunday following their late night arrival in Togo. Training will resume Monday with the Ghanaian coach urging full focus & determination to revive qualification hopes.
