Khartoum – Al-Yurae:
The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) announced on Friday that it had carried out intensive air and ground operations targeting a key supply line linking southern Libya and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) led by Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, known as Hemedti.
In an official statement, the SAF said its air and ground units conducted extensive operations over the past week against RSF positions across Darfur and Kordofan states, as well as along routes connecting their positions to southern Libya.
According to the military’s communiqué, the operations resulted in the destruction of more than 240 combat vehicles, the killing of hundreds of RSF fighters, and the obliteration of several strategic drones, hideouts, and operations facilities located at Nyala Airport.
The army reaffirmed its resolve to continue operations until national security and stability are fully restored, noting that ground forces had retaken large areas in Kordofan and Darfur, and would maintain joint coordination with allied units to eliminate the remaining “militia remnants” across their areas of presence.
The statement added that Sudanese military aircraft have continued to launch heavy airstrikes on the towns of Al-Nuhud and Al-Khuwai, which the RSF reportedly uses as logistics hubs and staging grounds for its attacks.
On January 3, 2026, the Sudanese air force also carried out a series of powerful strikes against RSF positions in North Darfur State, western Sudan, as part of an escalating military campaign aimed at severely disrupting rebel supply networks and neutralizing cross-border movements from southern Libya.
