Published:

Al-Fasher (SUNA) – The Local Emergency Room of Tina locality in North Darfur State has revealed that the locality continues to receive daily and ongoing influxes of displaced persons and refugees fleeing from Al-Fasher, as well as from the Zamzam and Abu Shouk camps and the Tawila area. The Emergency Room reported that the number of those who have arrived in Sudanese Tina and then crossed into Chadian Tina has now exceeded 20,000 refugees.

In its report on those fleeing the war, the Emergency Room stated that some families have reached Sudanese Tina on foot in extremely dire conditions. It highlighted that many refugees have suffered various injuries as a result of attacks by the Dagalo militia on Zamzam camp, and that they have not received any medical aid, with their wounds in critical condition requiring urgent healthcare. The report also noted the presence of pregnant women in need of emergency surgical operations, some of whom are minors, as well as cases of miscarriage among women due to severe psychological and humanitarian distress.

The Emergency Room’s report further revealed the arrival of children who are missing or separated from their families, with a large group of them reaching Tina town without their relatives. It explained that these children were with their families during the attack on Zamzam camp and became separated in the chaos. The report also noted other cases of children whose relatives were killed or imprisoned by the Rapid Support Forces militia on the way, leaving them orphaned, unaccompanied, or separated and suffering severe psychological and humanitarian hardship.

The Emergency Room stated that many mothers have arrived in the Tina area and are still searching for their missing children. Eyewitnesses confirmed to the Emergency Room that some children were taken off vehicles at checkpoints on the way to Tina and detained by the Rapid Support Forces militia, and that these children remain imprisoned.

The Local Emergency Room in Tina affirmed its commitment and ongoing efforts, in coordination and cooperation with the North Darfur State Emergency Room Council, to contain this grave humanitarian tragedy and to alleviate the suffering of the affected citizens.
